SolidCube 4010 In Motion Cubing System

The SolidCube 4010 from CASI provides the automation needed for putaway or shipping operations requiring high accuracy. The 4010 is capable of high speed operations. The system operates either as a standalone or easily integrates into existing conveyor systems. SolidCube 4010 systems are designed for shipping systems requiring .2" dimensional accuracy. Depending on throughput and accuracy requirements for weight, SolidCube 4010 is an easy add-on to CASI checkweighers. Although not required in most operations, the 4010 can be upgraded for legal for trade requirements mostly found in international trade applications.

The SolidCube 4010 series utilizes primarily off the shelf components rather than proprietary controllers, giving the customer the ability to purchase replacement parts from local vendors.

FedEx Integration for Automated Shipping

CASI offers a pre engineered solution for automated shipping of FedEx packages using either Powership or NASCAR. The system utilizes CASI’s standard Warehouse Control System (WCS) modules to automatically weigh, cube and label packages for shipment with FedEx. According to - Transportation charges may be assessed based on dimensional weight, which is a volumetric standard. Dimensional-weight pricing is applicable on a per-package or per-shipment basis to all shipments in customer packaging. If the dimensional weight exceeds the actual weight, charges based on the dimensional weight will be assessed.

Siwarex FTA for weighing railway wagons

The products of Kali France are loaded onto railway wagons in Wittenheim, near Mulhouse, and dispatched for sale. A crucial criterion for the modernization of the company’s weighing system, therefore, was that the new solution had to be calibratable. Slurry Density Gauges - Gamma Type

This measurement is based on the principle of gamma ray absorption.
A gamma emitting source and a gamma detector bolt to opposite sides of the process pipe. The absorption of gammas is proportional to mass. The number of gammas arriving at the detector is therefore inversely proportional to the mass of material between the source of gamma and the detector. Since the volume inside the pipe is fixed, this measurement may be calibrated to yields mass per unit volume or Density. The signal requires linearising and other conditioning which is performed by the UNIPRO® transmitter.
This non-contacting measurement technique makes for an extremely simple installation and requires little maintenance. The measurement is performed in real time allowing for fast and efficient Density Control where required.
Being non-invasive, the measurement is unaffected by Process, Pressure, Temperature, Viscosity, Refractive characteristics etc., and does not suffer the wear and corrosion associated with invasive type measurements. This results in reduced maintenance and improved reliability of the measurement.
When coupled to a volumetric flow rate meter, the density gauge can provides accurate determination of wet and/or dry Mass Flow Rate and totalisation.

Belt Weigh Feeders

Process Automation belt weigh feeders are custom designed to meet the requirements of the application.
Flushing type process materials can also be accommodated.

These Weigh Feeders are available in almost any capacity or length to suit the application requirements. For those applications demanding the highest performance our Automated “In-Line Calibration Checking” may be incorporated. This allows continual monitoring of the weighing performance / calibration of the weigh feeder while in normal operation –without having to stop the Process!

Two alternatives for the weight measurement may be employed on the weigh feeder; viz. either the Electro-Mechanical type Conveyor Scale or the non contacting Gamma type Conveyor Scale.

Batch Control may be incorporated to allow dispatch of pre-set quantities of material.

Blending of materials via multiple weigh feeders is possible using our blending / batching control system.


The DH340A9 digitizer is the latest in technology for weighing application. The DH340A9 is built around a micro - controller and uses a Sigma - Delta converter for digitizing.

With an internal resolution of 1 / 100000 it operates rapidly giving highly stable and accurate readings.

The DH340A9 can source up to 10 load cells and can be digitally calibrated. It is fully programmable by the user and is secured by a combination of a Password and a hardware lock.

The front panel has a set of soft touch keys which allows the authorized user to program the system and set parameters. The DH340A9 has a 5- digit , 7 - segment, LED display on it's front panel.

The DSH340A9 is provided with two ports. A RS232C port for communication to a PC, and a BCD port for sending data to our L505RD out door display.

Single-Axle Weighbridge

The Griffith Elder Ton-Tel Single Axle Weighbridge is used by many highway authorities, trucking companies and general hauliers for checking the weights of vehicles. In particular this design of weighbridge will give accurate weights of the individual axles as well as giving the overall vehicle weight. A vehicle is weighed while it is being driven over the platform without stopping. By engaging low gear and just cruising over on tickover all the axles will be individually recorded and the total weight will be computed. This gives a complete picture of the distribution of the load and allows the driver to see if any axles are overloaded.
The Ton-Tel Single Axle Weighbridge is often used for law enforcement and a very high accuracy ensures that the vehicles are fairly weighed. Of course, as with any system which weighs vehicles in parts (some but not all axles at a time) it is important to ensure a good concrete roadway each side of the platform. However, the Ton-Tel uses a unique method to compute the weight of each axle which makes it much less sensitive to the quality of the roadway. The weight on each corner of the platform is measured independently and the electronics then uses mathematics to work out if the axle is moving at the correct speed and what its weight is.

Trucks that are overloaded have been found to cause significant damage to roads, with such damage estimated to be in excess of $600 million per year. Effective weight enforcement results in less precious state funds having to be spent on pavement repair. Furthermore, shrinking enforcement budgets demand that effective, efficient methods of ensuring weight compliance are used. Weigh-in-Motion is a critical piece of a comprehensive weight enforcement solution.

General Provisions Static Scale

1.0 Static scales and WIM (Weigh-In-Motion) shall be of one manufacturer to
maximize compatibility and availability of components.
1.1 Furnish and install one pit type multi-platform concrete deck motor truck
scale and associated electronic controls.
1.2 The scale shall have a clear and unobstructed overall weighing surface of
not less than 76 feet long and not less than 12 feet wide (other sizes

platform sizes of 12 ft. x 12 ft., 24 ft. x 12 ft., and 40 ft x 12 ft. to provide
individual axle grouping weights and a total gross vehicle weight.
The scale shall be fully electronic in design and shall not incorporate any
mechanical weighing elements, check rods, or check stays.
1.4 The scale shall have a nominal capacity of 200,000 pounds graduated in
20-pound increments.
1.5 The scale shall have a dual tandem axle capacity (two axles spaced 48 in.
apart) of 70,000 pounds and shall be designed to provide a fatigue life of
20 years.
1.6 The load cells, load cell mounting hardware, and junction boxes shall be
constructed of stainless steel. The cables shall be stainless steel sheathed.
1.7 The scale shall meet the requirements set forth by the current edition of the
National Institute of Standards and Technology Handbook 44 (NIST H-44).
The scale manufacturer shall provide a Certificate of Conformance (NTEP
Certification) to these standards upon request.
1.8 The design and manufacture of the scale weighbridge, load cells, digital
instrument, and associated accessories shall be of one manufacturer as to
maximize compatibility and availability of components. This manufacturer
shall have a quality system that has been registered to the standards of

The new MTX load cell has everything that you have come to expect from METTLER TOLEDO. Its on-board microprocessor continuously monitors cell performance and automatically compensates for external influences such as temperature changes, nonlinearity, hysteresis and load cell creep.
The design of the MTX load cell has been modified to provide extended performance in your heavy capacity application. The canister’s shape and addition of laser-welded lap joints provide a stronger and more damage resistant product in abusive environments. What is Weigh-in-Motion

Weigh-in-Motion, also known as WIM, is the process of weighing vehicles as they travel at
speeds ranging from under 5mph to as high as 65mph. Using weighing sensors embedded in the
road, along with electronics and software for interpreting the sensors’ signals, an approximation
of the vehicles axle and gross weights is made. Axle spacing and vehicle class information can
also be determined. Depending on site conditions and the type of WIM technology used, gross
vehicle weight accuracies of +/- 2% can be achieved.
The most accurate and durable type of WIM system is an in-ground, load cell based system. As
the vehicle crosses the scale software calculates individual wheel, axle, and gross weights and
are captured at a powerful industrial computer. Data is then available for display on a CRT or
scoreboard, stored on the hard drive, sent to a printer, or transmitted to a remote device.
The weight information can also be transmitted to a “host” device PC or mainframe computer in
an ASCII format. The system can control traffic lights, gates, or other peripheral equipment.
Interface with cameras or AVI (automatic vehicle identification equipment) is also possible (see
Figure 1 and 2).

WIM For Border Crossings

With the high growth in truck traffic across U.S. borders plus higher legal weight limits in Canada and Mexico, it is critical that truck weights be checked upon entry into the U.S. A METTLER TOLEDO WIM system allows for fast weight compliance checking with minimal delay.

Load Cell-Based WIM Systems

METTLER TOLEDO’s WIM solutions are based on load cell
technology (strain gauge).
As a vehicle passes over the scale, the system records the
weights measured by each platform and adds them
together to obtain the axle weight. The scale is placed in
the travel lane perpendicular to the direction of traffic.
Load cell type WIM scales are regularly used in weigh
station ramp presorting systems, for data collection
systems, and for industrial weighing. Load cell scales
typically require permanent installations with some minor
excavation into the road.

Weighing-in-Motion Vehicle Scales

Weighing-in-Motion (WIM) is, as the name implies, the process of weighing a vehicle as it is moving along the highway in an effort to estimate the equivalent static weight of the vehicle.

There are many factors that influence the weighing of moving vehicles that must be understood to accurately estimate the equivalent static weight - road smoothness, road curvature, traffic patterns, vehicle dynamics, sensor uniformity - to name a few. Site selection is critical for optimal system performance. Before selecting a WIM system, it is important for you to understand what it will be used for by asking some basic questions.

Weigh-In-Motion is a valuable tool for traffic monitoring professionals. Because of the many factors that influence the weighing process, however, weighing-in-motion is not certified for enforcement in the United States, but it is an effective and highly beneficial tool in the enforcement process or to expedite commercial vehicle operations (CVO).

Cardinal offers both quartz and load cell sensor based WIM scales and systems suitable for use in a wide variety of applications. Applications ranging from highway weigh stations and ports of entry for enforcement purposes to mainline applications for data collection/traffic flow studies, or for streamlined CVO. Fully Automatic Truck Scale

Fully automatic truck weighing scale adopts intelligent identification system whose weighing process is operated by computer automatically. Equipped with video monitor system, this product can avoid man-made interference and prevent cheating, which increase weighing rate and become the effective means for enterprise to strengthen measuring management.

The process of intelligent weighing system:

When trucks enter into the receiving range of entry card reader’s wireless radio frequency, the reader sends a set of electromagnetic waves with regular frequency to the IC card where exists an IC series connection circuit. The frequency of this circuit is the same as the entry card reader. The read and record machine will upload the card data to the database of main computer after card reading. At the same time, data of the truck is picked out. Then the display screen will show the weight information. After weighing completing, the system will send signals in red and green lights to notify driver leaving and then the lock gate open automatically.

Features of intelligent weighing system:

Fast data collection: the whole system can perform quick and effective weighing and avoid queuing.

Convenient for owners and customers: there is no need for driver to show relevant document during passing this kind of weighing scale. And also operator in scale room doesn’t need to input data into computer. Therefore, more time is saved and the operations of driver and scale operator become more convenient.

Avoiding errors of man operation: the data of auto is read, recorded and verified by computer automatically, which avoids man-made interference.
